Remote Readings and Reiki

One of the good things technology has given us is the ability to communicate over a distance, whether it is across town or across the globe. Virtual meetings, classes, visits with grandparents, and catching up with old friends are heightened by being able to hear their voice and see their welcome faces. While technology is not necessary for a qualified Reiki Master, Spiritual Medium or Medical Intuitive to provide assistance, it does add to the personal contact for readings, Reiki, and intuition work. I offer remote readings, Reiki healing, classes and other contacts via phone, FaceTime, Zoom, and other methods. You do not have to be close to have caring, focused assistance at your fingertips.
Reiki is an energy healing tradition from Buddhist and Shinto roots that was started over 100 years ago by Master Mikao Usui. Usui’s ancestors were the influential Chiba clan in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, with history reaching back prior to 1100 CE/AD. Raised in the tradition of the Hatamoto samurai, it is certain that Usui learned very early to feel and work with energy. He trained students in Japan as early as the 1920’s and it is well documented that he studied history, medicine, Christianity, Buddhism, Shinto, psychology, and Taoism. The first studio for Reiki work was established in the U.S. in 1970 by Hawayo Takata, a student of one of Usui’s main disciples, Chujiro Hayashi. I am a Third Level Reiki Master in the Usui Fire tradition.
The word “reiki” comes from the Japanese word 霊気 "mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign", combining rei "universal" and ki "vital energy"—the Sino-Japanese reading of Chinese lingqi (靈氣) "numinous atmosphere". Another translation is “spirit world energy” and qi or chi “life force”. Trained Reiki masters have three levels of training, each level being a logarithmic increase in ability and mastery. Reiki was developed to assist with emotions, physical issues, and trauma. By directing energy through the palms, the practitioner passes energy into the person receiving the treatment. Much of Reiki is done with no direct contact of the hands on the body, and may involve ancient sacred symbols. Because of the ability to focus energy and direct it, Reiki is a good candidate for distance treatment and energy healing work. Reiki often creates a feeling of relaxation, calm, increased release, and happiness. It can be done for any age and for a number of purposes.
I am often asked how Reiki works with other faiths, such as Christianity or Judaism. Both religions discuss energy healing in their sacred texts. Reiki is very similar to what is encouraged as a means for followers to learn and practice to help heal and improve the emotional and physical being of other persons. Reiki is not based in or on a religion or belief system, however. It is based on energy techniques that are ancient for helping the mind, body, and spirit.
Many Reiki practitioners belong to local groups that provide support to children’s hospitals and law enforcement. These communities of practitioners collect new, clean stuffed animals several times a year to “imbue” [to permeate with a quality] into the supportive stuffies calming, protective energy. Because of the type of energy Reiki utilizes, the energy placed into an object does not deteriorate or “leak out”. Officers then carry the stuffed animals with them on patrol to be able to provide to children who have suffered trauma from accidents, abuse, domestic violence, disasters, and other tragic events. The power of Reiki is very evident as a vehicle to help calm and support a distraught child.
Readings are also very effective at a distance. Because energy is a universal, galactic force, I am able to tune in and be in the “sacred space” of a person to provide insight and information. Distance does not diminish the energy a person has surrounding them, and for that matter, inside them. I can provide Reiki, psychic readings or medical intuitive work. I do ask for remote readings that the person I am working with is preferably alone, and if not, please share who is with you and why. Other people’s energy can sometimes interfere with a reading, as can chaotic environments and situations where a person is in peril or possible jeopardy. Should you need to utilize a translator, please know it needs to be someone who has nothing to gain or control (i.e. totally neutral) and also is able to fully and accurately translate for you. A calm, safe environment for the person receiving the reading is the best.
